Maybe you’re into ferry landings, funny-shaped rocks, mailboxes with personality, or islands too small for houses but perfect for dramatic thinking?

We’re starting up Mapmakers, a small creative collective for people who love putting oddly specific things on a map and get hired to do it. It’s for explorers, collectors, storytellers, folks who find the weird and wonderful corners of the world and want to share them.

Destinations everywhere are looking for more personal, playful ways to share their places — and we think Stigen Mapmakers could be the perfect match. Together, we can offer hotels, festivals, neighborhoods, and regions maps with a little more soul than the usual tourist fare.

We’re keeping the group small so we can share interesting work as it comes in — like mapping snack shacks, back-alley bookstores, lonely picnic tables, streets that smell like fresh bread, mossy shortcuts through the woods, or hills that catch the evening light just right.

Sounds like you? If you’ve made a map you’re proud of (or at least not embarrassed by), send it in — along with a note about your mapping interest. We’ll take a look and let you know if you’re in.
